Gate style
Swing gate*
A welcoming entrance, simple and built to last.
A gate on hinges that swings open, as a single leaf or a double (two-leaf) gate for driveways. The simplest and most common gate, and it can be made to match any fence.

Honest advice
Is a swing gate right for you?*
After 20+ years of building them, here’s when we’d recommend a swing gate, and when we’d point you to something else.
It’s a great fit if…
You have room for the gate to open
You’ll need a clear arc inside the gate. For a double driveway gate, that’s roughly half the opening width on each side.
Your driveway is flat or slopes away
A swing gate needs level ground (or ground that falls away) so it doesn’t scrape as it opens.
You want the simplest, most affordable gate
Hinges and a latch: few parts, little to go wrong, and usually the lowest price.
You want to automate on a budget
Swing-gate motors are widely available and usually cost less than sliding systems.
You might prefer something else if…
Your driveway slopes up to the house
The gate would hit the rising ground as it opens. A sliding gate runs across the slope instead.
Consider: Sliding gateSpace is tight behind the gate
If cars park close to the gate, or there are steps or garden beds there, a swing gate has nowhere to go.
Consider: Sliding gateThe opening is very wide and exposed to wind
Big swinging leaves act like sails, and strain hinges and motors over time.
Consider: Sliding gate

Colours and finishes
What colours can I choose?*
Any colour you choose. The metal is powder coated, so we can match almost anything: your house trim, a Colorbond colour or a custom shade.
Textures available:
- Matt
- Satin
- Gloss
- Textured
- Woodgrain-look (aluminium)
- If your gate is clad with Colorbond-style sheet to match your fence, the sheet colour comes from the supplier’s catalogue, while the frame can be powder coated to match.
